Our three-star superior hotel is located in the heart of the Winklmoosalm, directly at the tri-border area of Bavaria-Tyrol-Salzburg. Enjoy pure nature – a fairytale vacation in the Bavarian mountains. As a guest of the Winklmoos SonnenAlm, you can drive your car directly to the hotel parking lot.
The Winklmoos SonnenAlm is situated on a beautifully scenic high plateau in the mountains at an altitude of 1,160 meters. Spend your vacation in our family-run mountain hotel and “Meisterbetrieb”. Experience a variety of sports and wellness, both indoors and outdoors, or enjoy time for two. You will find peace and the best climatic conditions for body, mind, and soul with us.
Our hotel is located directly at the Winklmoosalm-Steinplatte ski area. Ski directly from the terrace to the lifts.

Whether summer or winter, with the seasons in between having their own charm, our garden and the sun terrace around the house present themselves from their best side.
Sunbathers, hikers, and of course group travelers and bus companies are warmly welcome.

Our suites and double rooms are individually and lovingly furnished. Feel at home and enjoy Bavarian craftsmanship and experience traditional Bavarian coziness. Each suite has a different layout and furnishings. Almost every suite has a free view of the fascinating mountain landscape of the Winklmoosalm through the wrap-around balcony. In harmony with traditional materials, our new, light-flooded rooms invite you to cuddle. And of course, all our rooms have everything you need for your perfect dream vacation. The SonnenAlm kitchen offers typical Bavarian cuisine during the day and in the evening we spoil you with refined, traditional, but also internationally inspired dishes.
Bavarian cuisine is down-to-earth, originating from rural roots. Characteristic of Bavarian cuisine are the numerous meat and roast dishes, dumpling dishes, and flour-based dishes, which are also implemented in our kitchen.
We place great emphasis on regionality and sustainability! For our game dishes, we are supplied by local hunters, and junior chef and master chef Michael Schönhuber personally takes care of the butchering and further processing.
For events such as birthdays, weddings, and many more, we are happy to organize a unique menu, a barbecue buffet, or other extravagant culinary experiences with you.
